Park Visiting Hours

Fort Williams Park is open year round from sunrise to sunset and maintained by the citizens of Cape Elizabeth for all people to enjoy. There is no admission fee although donations are appreciated.

The lighthouse may be easily photographed from many areas within the park.

Directions to Fort Williams Park

Directions from 295 in Portland take Route 77 south to South Portland. Go left on Broadway, then right on Cottage Road. Cottage Road becomes Shore Road at the Cape Elizabeth town line.

Approaching from the south, take Route 1 north to Oak Hill in Scarborough. Go right on Route 207, then left on Route 77 north to Cape Elizabeth. Turn right at the blinker on to Shore Road. Portland Head Light is located in Fort Williams Park, 1000 Shore Road.


Museum Hours

The Museum is open 10:00am - 4:00pm.
Memorial Day to October 31st: Open Daily
Late April to Memorial Day: Weekends Only
November 1st through the first weekend in December: Weekends Only
*Sunday Nov. 26 is the last day the museum will be open for the 2017 season*

Museum Fees

Admission fees: $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children ages 6-18.
Children under 6 are free!

Gift Shop

The Gift Shop is open at all times when the Museum is open.
